1989 C. da Silva, Dalva "Golden White" - Colheita Port - Oporto - 1 Jennie (0,5 L)

1989 Dalva Colheita Golden White Tawny Port 1 x 0.50L 1 Bottle Port Wine DESCRIPTION In 1933, having just arrived from Brazil, Clemente da Silva realized his lifelong dream, creating an excellent wine house that would lead him to the globalization of his business: C. da Silva – resulting from the abbreviation of his name. A year later he registered the brand Dalva, which results from the contraction “da Silva”. With a simple and very Portuguese sound, success was easy to achieve in different markets. Looking for an activity in which to invest the capital from his business in Brazil, the young entrepreneur takes advantage of the close collaboration with the company Corrêa Ribeiro e Filhos, founded in 1862, and owned by his wife's family, to build up his initial stocks and give the first steps in the business, with Vintage Ports from 1896, 1912 or 1920 being famous. Combining centuries-old knowledge and techniques with new technologies and innovation, Dalva's portfolio is unique and distinct, presenting an unparalleled offer of Colheita Port Wines, which include unique and limited editions, the classic Vintage Port Wines, and a range exclusive range of White Port Wines, culminating in the aged and dated Golden White and Dry White collection. WINEMAKER: José Manuel Sousa Soares. AWARDS/RECOMMENDATIONS 96 Points, VertdeVin 95 Points, Gold Medal, Decanter World Wine Awards 95 Points, Gold Medal, International Wine Challenge 93 Points, Wine Enthusiast 18.5 Points, Vinho Grandes Escolhas WINE VARIETIES: Traditional from the Douro, such as Malvasia Fina, Donzelinho, Viosinho e Gouveio. VINIFICATION Vinification is carried out according to the traditional method of producing Port Wine, which includes stopping fermentation through the addition of brandy of wine origin. Aging takes place in casks for long periods until bottling, with the date indicated on the back label. The selection of these special wines is made from the best white vintages aging in our cellars, with a Golden White Port being released per decade. TASTING NOTES Beautiful amber and bright color. Delicate aromatic notes of dried apricot, raisins, and crystallized orange. On the palate, the fruit resurfaces, harmoniously melding with vibrant natural acidity. Finishes long, silky, and profound. SERVING A highly versatile Port, suitable for savoring alone or alongside "foie gras", desserts such as "crème brûlée", apple tart, or almond. Serve at a temperature between 12ºC and 14ºC. PLEASE NOTE: This is a recurring auction. The seal number(s) you see on the photos might differ from the one(s) on your bottle(s).
