Handsome first edition, with colour & photographic plates
A fascinating travelogue journey to Greece, with six chapters including, Picturesque Dalmatia, In and Near Athens, The Environs of Athens, Delphi and Olympia, In Constantinople and Stramboul, the City of Mosques.
The book is beautifully illustrated with tissue-guarded coloured frontispiece, 17 other colour plates by Jules Guerin, and 32 captioned tissue-guarded photographic plates. Published by Hodder and Stoughton, London, 1913. Publisher’s original maroon boards, with gilt lettering, and ornate gilt and green decoration to front board and spine. Top page edges gilt.

Condition
The book is beautifully bound, designed and illustrated. Firm and well bound copy. External covers in nice shape, with light wear to corners, edges, and to head and foot of spine. Internally the book is in very good condition indeed. Neat old inscription dated 1915 on first font free endpaper pages. Pages are very clean, thick and healthy, with foxing to first and last free endpaper pages. All plates are present and in nice condition (Please see pictures)
