The copper engraving shows a detailed plan of the city with its fortifications and a compass rose in the upper part. This is complemented in the lower third of the page by a city panorama with the city's coat of arms, framed by allegorical figures. The allegorical figures show trade (Hermes), war (Mars) and science (Athena)
