Shine Orgocrazy - Triptych : Fischer's of men - Nii Papifio - Rasta

TRIPTYCH - 2024 Logicien utilise : Freeform FISHERS OF MEN - RED - 24 cm x 20 cm It highlights on how collaborative endeavors among creatives can drive innovation and elevate ourselves and the industry as a whole. NII PAPIFIO - BLACK - 24 cm x 20 cm It is a portrait of a dear friend, capturing the essence of the importance of surrounding oneself with the right people. RASTA PREACH PEACE - YELLOW - 24 cm x 20 cm Is a term that inspires individuals to consistently bring light into others' lives by demonstrating love and kindness through their actions. In these works, I explore the themes of identity and human relationships within my society. Drawing from personal narratives rooted in my upbringing, I aim to illuminate the complexities of humanity in today's world. I utilize the colors of Ghana—red, yellow, black, and green—to emphasize my pride in my identity as a Ghanaian. The prints are created on high-quality 350grammage A3 paper, chosen for its durability and ability to retain color vibrancy over time. I used digital printing technique, allowing for intricate detail and rich texture that explore complex themes through layering and manipulation of colors. BIO : My name is Kwabena Yeboah Mensah, a multidisciplinary artist based in Accra, Ghana. I hold a degree in dance (choreography) from the University of Ghana, Legon. My artistic practice is deeply influenced by social issues and personal experiences. I utilize colors, lines, shapes, and vibrant patterns to convey stories that resonate with humanity. My journey has involved extensive experimentation with diverse art forms like painting, clothing and dance (African contemporary dance). A pivotal moment in my work came in 2024 when I discovered the Freeform app. My first painting, titled “KWAME Nkrumah” ignited my exploration of this platform, leading to a series of unique artworks created on my iPhone 12. Kwame Nkrumah played pivotal roles in fostering solidarity across the African continent. This year has been one of discovery, allowing me to experiment with colors, patterns, lines, curves, and shapes that tell stories reflecting both personal and societal themes. However, this is my first time showing the world these digital works using your esteem platform. Because I do not have videos of my self in the process I do save some raw sketches which I will attach it to the mail. My artistic approach delves into grotesque technique that challenge archaic aesthetics, provoking thought through a combination of color choices and stylistic elements. I explore themes of identity, culture, and the human experience to elicit a visceral response. My work is informed by personal narratives and societal observations, aiming to create a space for reflection and encourage individuals to confront discomfort and embrace the complexities of the nature of humanity. Additionally, I have collaborated on various projects, including a clothing collection with the brand Palmwineicecream, featured in publications such as i-D, Fucking Young!, and Manju Journal. I have also served as a co-stylist for Mr Eazi’s music video “THE DON” and collaborated with Vogue Netherlands on a styling project.
