Blind stamped green cloth with gilt lettering and decorations on frontboard and spine. Top edge gilt. Illustrated throughout with engravings by R. T. Pritchett. 2 colour fold-out maps at the rear of the voyage, of the World and South America. This book, published by John Murray, London 1890 originally, is in a nice condition with some light age related wear. No inscriptions, else text pages are lightly tanned but clean, spotting to prelim pages and the rough cut page-edges. Black endpapers, inner hinges are sound. Spine slightly faded, covers are good and strong with some light shelfwear. Overall a good used example of this historic book by Charles Darwin. xvii, 551 pages, 23 x 17 cm
