The 10 year old offers whiskey drinkers the perfect introduction to the Springbank range. Matured in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, it is perfectly balanced from the first sip to the full, rich finish. Springbank claims to be the only distillery in Scotland that carries out 100% of the production process in one location. For them, this means unparalleled quality control and the ability to pour decades of experience and passion into every drop of world-class whisky. Springbank has been distilling since 1828. With its own character, thanks to the use of lightly peated barley and a unique two and a half distillation process, it is a complex, full-bodied maritime dram. Today, the flagship whiskey is available in bottlings of 10, 12, 15, 18 and 21 year olds, each with a slightly different taste and finish.
Tasting note
Orchard fruit (pear) with a hint of peat, vanilla and malt. In the taste you taste malt, oak, spices, nutmeg and cinnamon, vanilla essence. The aftertaste is sweet, with a persistent salty tingle.
