Laura Corre - Metamorphic Entelechy (hidden love)
N. 91735383
In the last painting of the series "Loving nature" , “Metamorphic Entelechy,” the Aristotelian concept of inner purpose reinforces this idea of symbiosis with nature: here the organism-woman indulges her own tension to realize herself according to what is written within herself, achieving a metamorphosis (of Kafkaesque and Ovidian memory) into petunia, the flower of hidden love.
Laura Corre is an Italian figurative painter (lives and works in Tuscany).
She is a Top pro seller on Catawiki and had a solo auction in 2022.
Her works are born from realism and then follow the urgency of telling her own subjectivity. They evoke an aesthetic that could recall an “interrupted” magical realism: to the naturalistic representation of the human figure are sometimes added elements that load the work with emotional and conceptual meanings, conveying a sense of mysterious suspension and projection into an “other” dimension, suggesting time, remembrance, and psychological introspection. She mainly uses the technique of oil on canvas-sometimes accompanied by pastels, acrylics, graphite, collage-where soft, light brushstrokes create velvety textures that alternate with contrasting formal elements, faster strokes, vivid palettes, distorted perspectives that serve an expressive purpose.
Her interest focuses mainly on the female figure: her portraits depict contemporary women, with an introspective and social investigation that touches on themes such as the psyche-body relationship, feminism, and gender stereotypes. She draws inspiration both from her lived experience and from today's society; as the artist herself says, she paints “what is under the skin of women,” depicting bodies and faces “as if they were containers and vehicles of emotions, thoughts, stories,” as in her recent series “Under the Skin.” Another recurring subject is nature.
In 2022 she won first prize in the Umbrian competition “Falsi d'autore,” while in 2021 she is among the finalists in the Apulian prize “Il Francobollo d'Oro.”
Her works have been shown in numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad and are part of public (including the Museum of Contemporary Art in Montecatini Terme) and private collections around the world.
in this painting a metamorphosis is depicted,
it has already been displayed in 2 exhibition in Tuscany in 2023.
In this latest ongoing series, “Loving nature”, Laura Corre combines two of her favorite subjects, the female world and nature. Plants offer themselves as a "jungle of ecstasy", shelter and escape, a source of oxygen and love, physical and mental pleasure.
An invitation to reconnect with nature, focusing on the increasingly pressing ecological issue nowadays. The connection with nature is a deep relationship based on an emotional attachment in which it has an important meaning in our lives. Each painting expresses an emotion, a different thought regarding our relationship with nature. While in “Dream” and “Respiro” the ecstatic vision prevails, in “Equilibrio” a flower (any one, or all of them) poised on the mouth, represents us, our physical and mental balance, an unstable balance between feeling good and feeling bad, and that of the ecosystem of planet earth, which is increasingly threatened. In “Listening” (inspired by Hesse's “Song of the Trees”), headphones-antennas are depicted to capture the vibrations of plants and transform them into music. Blades of grass sometimes symbolize a precarious bond (as in "Intreccio" and in "Il filo che ci lega")
Laura Corre is a professional full-time painter who lives and works in Tuscany. She also teaches oil painting to children and adults. She is a Top pro seller on Catawiki and had a solo auction in 2022.
Her works, however finely executed and perfect as a piece of furniture, go beyond the decorative as they always express a concept dealing with contemporary society, in particular women and ecology.
Her works are part of public (including the Museum of Contemporary Art of Montecatini Terme) and private collections all over the world, have been used as book covers and posters, and have been exhibited in numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad. (for more info see her website www.lauracorre.com)
The painting will be shipped with the author's signed certificate of authenticity in bubble wrap and extra strong cardboard packaging. Extra quality panel, fine art oil paints, fine art quality Italian materials, ready to hang.
