Rare

Ardbeg Lord of the Isles was bottled in a very small edition after 25 years of barrel storage at a strength of 46% and is therefore a highly valued rarity among lovers and collectors that is unrivaled in the world of smoky whiskeys. In terms of power, complexity and balance, it surpasses all other Scotch whiskeys from Ardbeg, which are of outstanding quality in themselves. This rarity gets its name in honor of the independent nobles of Gaelic-Norwegian origin who ruled the Hebridean Islands and the Kintyre Peninsula between 1336 and 1493.

The Scotch Whiskey Ardbeg Lord of the Isles brings this magnificent period of Scottish history back to life and presents itself as an old-style Ardbeg, with a deep golden color and an incredibly complex aroma with leathery and peaty notes, accompanied by fruity tones such as orange marmalade, yellow apples and marzipan. As expected from Ardbeg, the taste is initially dominated by peat and tar, which are soon joined by the well-known salty Islay notes. Then a subtle sweetness permeates the rustic corset of this Scotch Whiskey, which paves the way for fruity elements reminiscent of tropical and citrus fruits. Tobacco, leather and repeated smoke complete the exquisite taste experience and lead to a very long, dry, smoky finish with a medicinal touch.
