Lucien Le Moine has no running contracts with growers (although they will often source grapes repeatedly from the best), and they have no prerequisites with regards to how the vines were managed.
It is located on the mid-slope of the Côte d'Or escarpment, immediately north of Morey-Saint-Denis village, and covers 6.6 hectares (15 acres) of land. Clos Saint-Denis wines are made from Pinot Noir, and are considered more aromatic and delicate than the wines from the neighboring Clos de la Roche Grand Cru vineyard.
