First Edition copy of the novel by Peter Benchley that inspired the film of the same name, ‘Jaws’.

The plot: A terrifying rogue shark is killing people as they enjoy swimming in the sea at Amity, a holiday resort on Long Island and everyone is in danger. Police chief, Martin Brody, is charged with stopping the carnage and hires a trawler boat and a giant of a man called Quint, a seasoned ex-marine turned fisherman, to help him capture the shark. But the shark has other ideas. The story ends with a dramatic sea-chase which for nail-biting tension is second to none.

Complete with the original dustjacket as designed by Tom Simmonds, the red cover underneath is in very nice condition indeed with gilt titles on spine.
The story is written in three parts.
272 pages, all clean
