Tyrannosaurus rex, often abbreviated as T. rex, is one of the most well-known and iconic dinosaurs that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 68 to 66 million years ago. It was a large carnivorous dinosaur that roamed what is now western North America. T. rex had a robust and muscular body with a large, heavy skull. Its skull featured sharp, serrated teeth, some measuring over 6 inches (15 centimeters) in length. It had small, two-fingered forelimbs and powerful hind limbs.
T. rex was a carnivore, meaning it primarily fed on other animals. It is believed to have been an apex predator, capable of hunting and scavenging large herbivorous dinosaurs like Triceratops and Edmontosaurus.
