Stunning pair of mother of pearl gents studs or waistcoat buttons set in gold plate metal in excellent condition. The box has dark blue velvet on outer layer and cream velvet on the inner layer. Dating from around 1930's. A bit of history: “Krementz's history began in 1866 when five men formed a company to manufacture jewelry, but it was in 1922 that George Krementz and Julius Lebkeucher joined their families into Krementz & Co., and used the humble collar button as the ladder to great prosperity. By 1900, says the company, most of the collar buttons produced in the world came for their New Jersey plant. When the partnership was divided in 1936, KREMENTZ & CO. continued with their speciality, the clad-metal line and some 10K and 14K gold manufacturing.“ Measurements The cufflinks are approximately 3 centimetre Weight (buttons only): approximately 2.70 grams Marked Krementz Plate Note: Many of my items are vintage and are therefore likely to show some age-related wear.
