Ojiya-Chijimi is a fabric made from ramie, which is produced in the area around Ojiya City, Niigata Prefecture. The fabric is woven with strongly twisted weft yarns, which are then wrung in hot water to produce a “shibo” texture.
It is said to have been created in the 17th century and has attracted many people as a summer kimono in hot Japan.
One of the popular features of this kimono was that it could be cut even in midsummer because the area touching the skin was reduced due to the shibo.
This kimono is for women.

Gorgeous kimono well received. Colours are slightly lighter than they appear in the photo. The inside and details of the kimono looked read, but are more orange/peach in real life. Still very pretty.
