Wooden figure from Myanmar / Burma.
The hands are folded in prayer (“Namaskara” or “Anjali Mudra”)
The statuette is richly decorated with small inlays of glass or colored stones, a detail often used in Thai or Burmese statues to represent deities or celestial beings (usually “devas” or “nagas”).
The pointed hairstyle is reminiscent of representations of Buddhist deities, kings or divine beings, particularly in Thailand, Myanmar and Laos.
Probably mid 20th century.
