First published ‘November 1932’. This is the first edition, fourth printing ‘December 1932’ of Churchill's collection of 23 engaging essays on an incredibly wide variety of subjects, including ‘Painting as a Pastime’. Issued in the U.S. under the title AMID THESE STORMS.
Illustrated with a black and white photographic portrait of the author at work on a painting, and other illustration in text. Published by Thornton Butterworth Limited, London, 1932. Publisher’s original dark green cloth covered boards with gilt lettering on front cover and spine.
Book Dimensions: 22 x 14 x 3.5 cm and Number of Pages: 320
Condition
Firm and well bound copy. External covers are slightly marked, with light wear to corners, and edges. Old inscriptions with neat ink dated 1933 on first front free endpaper page. Inner hinges are good, and pages are tightly held at the gutter. Text is clean and all illustrations in nice condition (Please see pictures).
