Ming Dynasty Pottery Zodiac Figure - Rooster
Circa 14th-17th century AD
This mesmerizing rooster figure is hollow moulded, elegantly poised in a standing position, emerging from an oval base. The bird exhibits alternating layers of green and yellow glaze adorning its flaring tail and backside, complemented by green-glazed legs. Facing forward, the rooster features a short beak, bulging eyes, a prominently highlighted red comb, and distinctly marked plumage on its body. Notably, the wings are meticulously painted with black pigment.
