Released in 1997, the album was produced by British ambient music duo Bill Laswell and Michael "Dub" Brooks, who transformed Marley's original recordings into atmospheric, laid-back tracks with a strong emphasis on dub effects and electronic production techniques.

The album offers a new perspective on Marley's music, combining his soulful vocals with hypnotic rhythms, reverberant soundscapes and deep bass lines characteristic of dub music.
