A pair of magnificent mid-Victorian silver-plated tall candelabra, in the 18th century manner. Resting on oblong bases and trimmed with reeded borders to the sconces. The central capitals are further decorated with inserts in the shape of a flame - the flames can be used as snuffers, to extinguish the lit candles.

The side capitals can be unscrewed from the arms for ease of storage and transportation.

The bases are lined with green baize fabric that has been replaced at a later date.

Origin: Sheffield, England
Date: c. 1850's

3860 g
37 cm tall to central capital
32 cm across the arms
12 x 15 cm at base

Very good antique condition. Wear to silvering appropriate to age and use; small ding to base and to one of the sconces; the edges of the bases are a bit uneven; the rim of one central capital is uneven; one of the capitals isn't level with the others.

Pakje is snel verzonden en goed aangekomen. De amethist is veel donkerder dan op de foto, bijna zwart en niet paars.
