On offer a rare and one of the best quality kangxi klapmuts bowls with a rare decoration of various Chinese symbols. The bowl is superbly made and the glaze is very white with hardly any imperfections. A similar bowl is shown on a painting of Nicolaas Verkolje (1673-1746) in the Victoria & Albert Museum. Verkolje was known as the painter with the silk hand! The inside rim shows diamond painting with four cartouches with symbols and the center a peony. The base is marked with a six character mark dedicated to Chenghua. Very disirable decorated bowl. Measurement: 16,5cm in diameter 8cm in hight Condition: Resonable / good used condition, various glaze lines to the rim and a hairline in the belly of the bowl. One small section professionally replaced of 3,2cm x 1,3cm and two frittings to the rim.
