These armchairs can be attributed to Adolf Loos, following the essay of Giovanni Renzi:
Thonet uses the modern term only once in the 1904 catalog, on what I call the "Loos page." This page deserves specific attention.

It's titled "Modern Armchairs," featuring 12 small armchairs. At least nine of these adopt the English style, and one of these – model no. 1012 – was used by Loos in the living room of his home and in the living room of his client Grete Hentschel.

The remaining three armchairs (no. 1009, no. 1010, and no. 1011) are closer to Kohn's production, especially in the use of square section. Two of these (no. 1009 and no. 1011) use the front leg like armchair model no. 714 of Jacob & Josef Kohn.

Yet, even in these three, we find Loos's ideas expressed in his essays at the end of the 19th century:

"Now, the best chair will not claim any particular novelty... The modifications must not be noticeable at first sight. They will be limited to variations of millimeters, at most centimeters, in the thickness of the wood."

Truly a collectors item.
