In order to maximize the capacity of Nike Air, development began with a functional approach of releasing the airbag that deformed when landing on the side. Tinker Hatfield, who designed it, was inspired by the Pompidou Center in the 4th arrondissement of Paris, France, and succeeded in making the air visible. This is the anniversary model "AIR MAX 1 PREMIUM JUST DO IT" commemorating the 30th anniversary of the use of NIKE's iconic catchphrase "JUST DO IT" in advertising.
