These are 3 linen bed linen with no initials and centre seams. These bed linen were the "working horses" for the not so well off French families. They acted for both top and bottom bed linen. They were either woven at home on a weaving loom or done in the factory , but with a maximum width of 1 meter. The bed linen would then be sent to "outworkers" to hand sew the selvedges together which was a laborious and painstakingly long exercise. Alternatively they would be finished at home by the young girls who had just finished their sewing exams and the would also add the initials of the parents and themselves. These bed linen have a multitude of possibilities and I am enclosing some photographic documentation of "Roman Blinds" made for the kitchen. 1 bed linen at 1m90x 3m20 1 bed linen at 1m95x 3m20 1 bed linen at 2m20 x 3m00 I have added a contrast blue and white linen check ,hand sewn to create colour. On another photo I have just "pinned" temporarily initials. You can also use them for making curtains or even table linen and again adding contrast fabric to the edges of the curtains and for the table linen you can use many initials and hand sew them on and thereby creating an interesting look.
