Once you get past the herbaceous aromas of candied fennel and green pepper, the 1993 lynch-bages, with its dense ruby-purple color, is well-structured and medium-bodied, with soft, ripe and seductive aromas on the palate, full-bodied, glycerinized and fruity with candied blackcurrant.

1989 Carruades de Lafite :
Château Lafite Rothschild's second wine rightly enjoys an excellent reputation. Its name comes from the "plateau des Carruades", the name of the plots of land acquired in 1985 adjacent to Château Lafite. The wine is composed of a large majority of Cabernet Sauvignon, a large proportion of Merlot and a very small proportion of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The aromatic complexity is grandiose. Very tannic in its youth, the wine possesses an impressive body that will allow it to age for a long time. The qualities of this wine surpass those of many of the Médoc's crus classés.
