The 2016 vintage was the scene of several climatic acts that gave birth to a magnificent harvest. The weather in June was very favorable to a homogeneous flowering and then to a good beginning of vine growth. The dry and sunny summer, the slightly cooler nights of August and finally, the beautiful after-season of early September allowed the berries to obtain an excellent maturity: Very beautiful color, aromatic potential, richness in sugars and tannins.

Blend of the 2016 vintage: 74% Merlot, 26% Cabernet franc.

The robe is an intense, very dark red color, with beautiful garnet reflections.

The nose offers expressive notes of black cherry, black currant, violet and Sichuan pepper, followed by cocoa and exquisite oak.

The attack is supple, the wine evolves on a creamy texture that releases successive layers of dark berries, blackberry and peppery spices. The tannins are of great finesse, making it rise in power and persistence before it ends on a long and particularly expressive finish. A Château Canon of
