Antique Rosewood Chinese Display Table. A stunning example perhaps Huanghuali (‘’yellow flowering pear") wood from late Qing Dynasty period. The table is beautifully inlaid with mother of pearl and bone with exquisite decoration and attention to detail. This not just a table, it is quiet simply a work of art. Tables of this design are very rare. The graceful lines of this piece, created by its undulated waist and exquisite decoration are imbued with a feminine quality. This is the finest example wood of its kind from any era, with abstract patterns like ghost's faces in the translucent shimmering surface. The table was purchased privately by its current owner in 1988, in Cornwall England from a retired British army colonel who aquired it in Egypt towards the end of World War 2.
