A collection of interesting 19th century documents all original and detailed below and including an original copy of The Times newspaper from 1840 and a copy of The Graphic from 1891, a fascinating glimpse into the past, an interesting collection to own and also suitable for framing and display.
The collection includes:
A copy of The Times newspaper dated Monday December 28th 1840.
A copy of The Graphic Illustrated Weekly Newspaper dated October 3rd 1891, missing the front cover, measuring 42 x 30cm (16.5" x 12").
A photograph of an unknown gentleman.
Two letters franked 1861 and 1878 respectively, both with Penny red stamps.
An Ordnance Survey map of the Parish of Brancepeth in the County of Durham marked 'Duplicate'.
A handwritten receipt dated 1820.
A bank debit slip dated 1886.
A cheque dated 1876.
A receipt with postal stamp dated 1884.
A small Almanack from 1867 with handwritten accounts in a Copperplate hand.
A handwritten introductory sheet for a 'Schedule of Estates', undated.
A handwritten receipt dated 1820.
A handwritten letter with wax seal.
