Stored in private cellar up today. Bottles in outstanding condition: very good filling level, corks, color, capsules, labels, no leakage. Fully mature and therefore drinking well now, or cellar for next 30 years.

96/100 Robert Parker: "I couldn't resist commenting on the bottle of the 1978 Prado Enea Gran Reserva the Muga family uncorked when we started talking about old vintages and their idea to replace the corks from the older bottles they have in stock. This one had the original cork and the wine was aged for some four years in used American oak barriques. It has a beautiful nose of black truffle, underbrush, forest floor and an herbal twist with a touch of resin. It's balsamic, heady and intoxicating, developing nuances with time in the glass of brick dust, smoke and mushrooms. The palate is polished, the tannins are fully resolved and the wine has a velvety texture and very pure flavors with great length. Tasty, elegant and harmonious, with great complexity. This is as classical as it gets. 1978 was declared a very good vintage in Rioja. I would say this wine is exceptional. And while fully developed, it can still hold in bottle".
