An Imperial Russian Jadeite Letter Opener.
The gold-plated silver handle, enamelled in translucent beige over a wavy guilloché ground. The handle applied with finely detailed garlands connected to a bow set with 2 cabochon cut sapphires, decorated with an imperial crown, set with 2 cabochon cut rubies, along with 8 round cut diamonds. The upper and lower end of the handle are finely decorated with floral motifs. Both ends of the handle are finely decorated with beaded rims. The upper part of the opener is finely decorated with the iconic double-headed Russian eagle, with an intricate enamelled cross, again depicting the double-headed Russian eagle.
The uncracked jadeite is surrounded by a floral motif depicting a bird, attached to the handle. Presented in a fitted wooden case.
The letter opener is in a very good condition, with minimal damages, see pictures for own impression.
Property of an experienced collector, specialised in high-end luxuries, fine arts, antiques, paintings, and Imperial Russian collectables.
