Chateau d'Yquem is a legendary and reference name for the production of Sauternes. Its fame and success have allowed it to obtain the exclusive mention of Premier Cru Superieur, also known as Premier Grand Cru, in the classification of Bordeaux wines of 1855. For more than four centuries Yquem has been synonymous with the best botrytised wine in the world, that is, produced with grapes attacked by Botrytis Cinerea, a noble mold that allows the concentration of sugars, giving life to sweet wines with an elegant aromatic complexity. Sauternes Chateau d'Yquem is a masterpiece in almost immortal liquid form, in fact it is capable of aging for decades and reaching a majestic maturity and expressive richness.

Approximately 120 hectares of vineyard cultivated with very low yields and a careful selection of the best bunches, so much so that the annual production is only around 70 thousand bottles. Here, in a small hamlet in the area located south-west of Bordeaux, called Grave, mainly Semillon and Sauvignon are grown, and it is precisely from these vines that the Chateau D'Yquem Premier Grand Cru comes to life. Fermentation and aging take place exclusively in new barriques. Only the particular climatic conditions of the place, characterized by continuous temperature variations and high levels of humidity, allow the production of these nectars of unparalleled quality and value.
