Josef Gisela (actually Josef Urban Rezniček, born November 17, 1851 in Klattau, † August 24, 1899 in Vienna) was an Austrian genre painter. Josef Urban Rezniček studied from 1868 to 1878 at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Anselm Feuerbach, Heinrich von Angeli and Eduard Engerth. In 1872 he was awarded the Lampi Prize. In 1887 Rezniček took the stage name Josef Gisela. In 1888 he became a member of the Vienna Künstlerhaus and exhibited his works at its exhibitions from 1885 onwards. He was friends with the painters Carl Zewy, Isidor Kaufmann and Johann Hamza. Verso has a similar sketch. Drawing corner mounted on blue paper mounted on cream card. Gisela became known for his genre paintings.
