1 rare bottle of Maison Leroy Vosne-Romanée from 2009

Kept in a professional cellar from new, direct from importer. The bottle is in perfect condition, as can be seen in the pictures.

Maison Leroy was founded by François Leroy as a négociant house in 1868 in the village of Auxey-Duresses and is today headed up by the renowned Lalou Bize-Leroy. Maison Leroy represents a portfolio of wines selected by Lalou. Vignerons from across Burgundy will submit their wines for evaluation and, following a blind tasting, Lalou will select just a few to be bottled under the Maison label. There have only been a handful of bottled vintages this century. Robert M. Parker Jr. has called Leroy’s wines “the reference point for Burgundy…(the wines) are among the noblest and purest expressions of Pinot Noir"

The Vosne-Romanée is made using traditional winemaking techniques. The grapes are harvested by hand and sorted to ensure only the highest quality grapes are used. The grapes are then fermented in oak barrels using natural yeasts. The wine is aged in oak barrels for several years to develop its complex flavors and aromas.

The 2009 is a complex and well-structured wine. It has a deep ruby color with aromas of black cherry, raspberry, and spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied with flavors of dark fruit, earth, and a hint of oak. It has a long and silky finish.

Can be enjoyed now or will cellar longer.

Ships worldwide.
