Grande ciotola della dinastia Song

Large 7.4' diameter/3.14' high (18.7 cm W/ 7.9 cm H) green glazed incised fine bowl from the Northern Song Dynasty (10th - 12th c AD) which is believed to originate Fujian province. Found during the exploration of the the Jepara shipwreck, the bowl featuring a wide rim that gracefully tapers to a narrow foot and has a warm Celadon-like glaze. The bowl is surprisingly well preserved taking into account that many similar pieces that were taken above water had signs of glaze issues or showed faded, blunt incisings. The freely drawn incised floral design is typical for the Dynasty just like the foot that was left unglazed to add a refined touch. The item shows off a 'glaze pool' within the bowl and deep incisings which is adorned by collectors. You get the tiny shell attached to it entirely for free! For more information regarding this particular piece I kindly refer to a trusted source and a great reference and documentation of very similar artifacts of which many did not survive or only in bad shape: https://www.koh-antique.com/fujianceramics/fceramicsmain.html
