This scroll comes with an appraised box by Okumura Sekitei Suehiko - son of Okumura Sekiran in 1924 (Taisho 13). 奥村石蘭 Okumura Sekiran (1834-1895) Japanese painter of the late Edo and Meiji periods, born in Nagoya, Owari in 1834. Studied painting of the Shijo school under Nomura Gyokkei, and in 1855 went to Kyoto to study under Yokoyama Seiki. He later returned to Nagoya and trained many students. In addition to painting, he was also skilled in seal engraving, calligraphy, and haiku. 奥村石亭 Okumura Sekitei (1874-1945) Born in 1874 in Nagoya, Japan. Eldest son of Okumura Sekiran. Studied Shijo School under Okumura Sekiran and Isobe Hyakurin.
