NAD - 524 - Lettore CD
N. 77728855
N. 77728855
Non complementary MOS-FET amp featuring an overboost quite different from those used in earlier NADs or Protons, and more reminiscent of “Dynamic Power Supply” used in some Pioneers from the early 80s, e.g. the A-60, A-70, A-80, although these used complementary bipolars instead of N MOS-FETs and power was current (not time) limited.
Thanks to this device the 306 can output short bursts some 3~4 dB above its nominal rating, and pretend much more power than it can really handle.
The preamp section sports an all-discrete Phono input with MC head amp, remarkably sophisticated for a 1990s amp at this price point, and is very versatile overall.
The sound is typical of 1990s amps aimed at getting good reviews in the audiophile press: non aggressive and politically correct, it won't give rise to any complaint.
The unit has been tested and fully operational.
Unit has been serviced all knobs and potentiometers have been cleaned and deoxitized.
