The Photo Image 7
Toshio Saeki, Kishin Shinoyama etc
Shashin Hyoronsha/1971/Japanese/220*250*10/Back cover, stains and small tears.
From the prewar to the postwar period, Japan produced a number of “camera magazines” that have left their mark on history, but one series that stands out for its individuality is the “Quarterly Photo and Video” series. 10 issues were published from 1969 to 1971, and most of the members of Provoke and other photographers who were creating photographs with a “visual sensibility” during this period participated. Most of the photographers who were creating photographs with a “visual sensibility” during this period, including the Provoke members, also participated in the series. In addition, many artists other than photographers, such as designers and writers, also participated. The cover of this issue No. 7 was designed by Shiro Tatsumi, with the cover by Genpei Akasegawa. Included in this issue is a “holiday-only calendar” in full color and fold-out format by Shiro Tatsumi, Toshio Saeki, Mad Amano, Isamitsu Yokosuka, Kishin Shinoyama, and Noriaki Kano. Also included are “Otoko Michi” by Hiko Watanabe, “Republic Jitsugen” by Kenji Kanasaka, “F0ck Out” by Noriaki Kano, “One Bound” by Koichi Inakoshi, and “Friday, The 13th” by Tadayuki Naito.
