Classification: Iron meteorite (IIAB)
History: Purchased by Shun-Chung Yang and Juan Chen in April 2022 from an Algerian dealer. Largest mass is 150 g.
Petrography: (C. Herd, UAb) Optical investigation of polished and etches surfaces shows no Widmanstatten pattern and no obvious inclusions. Alteration is extensive, with veins penetrating along fractures and grain boundaries into the interior.
Geochemistry: ICP-MS data, using sample of North Chile (Filomena) as standard (C. Herd and S. DuFrane UAb): Ni = 6.1, Co = 0.440 (both in wt%); Ir = 2.3, Ga = 53, Ge = 201, As = 4.1, Ru = 13, Pd = 1.7, Re = 0.14, W = 1.7, Pt = 17, Cu = 151, Au = 0.67 (all μg/g).
Classification: (C. Herd, UAb): IIAB iron. Specimens examined are small relative to the apparently coarse texture of the meteorite.
Specimens: Type specimen of 26.5 g at UAb. Main mass with Shun-Chung Yang and Juan Chen.
