This is a very rare and unique record player, especially for the real enthusiast. The combination with the original MMC5 cartridge retip with new stylus makes this offer unique! The design is characterised by the chic materials, combined with the mirror decorative panel and white edge. The cover is slightly bent and tinted dark, through which you can just see the brushed aluminium platter, very nicely made.
This is a fantastic device in technical sense. A fully automatic player with the famous tangential tonearm. This technology, developed by B&O from the 1970s, provides the best possible music reproduction. The needle of the record is not placed into the groove at a different angle, as with the well-known “radial” record players, but perfectly straight on the groove, as the record itself was cut. This creates the best contact between the needle and vinyl and all of the finesse in the music are perfectly reproduced. An additional advantage is the extremely low needle pressure of only 1.2 grams, so the wear to your needle and record collection is kept to a minimum.
Pressing “play” is enough to start the player, the turntable starts, checks the size of the record and lowers the tonearm precisely into the groove. The speed is also automatically chosen. The speed is shown on the second arm next to the tonearm via a small display.
It plays perfectly, and the tonearm moves smoothly. The player itself looks like new just some small scratches visible on last photos . The cartridge is a MMC-5 with a diamond mounted in titanium.The condition of this BeoGram in combination with a new cartridge means that you can use this for years ahead.
