Octavo, in original wraps with the title printed in black on the cover. This speech, delivered an hour after Mirabeau’s death by M. Talleyrand-Périgord, the former Bishop of Autun, during the National Assembly session on April 2, 1791, represents Mirabeau’s final legislative work. The subject addresses a proposed law on inheritance, rooted in the question: “Should the law allow unrestricted disposition of assets in direct lineage?” Mirabeau’s argument leads to the conclusion: “That anyone with direct descendants may only dispose of a specified portion of their property by will… I therefore request: That the order and division of inheritances in ascending and descending direct lineage be permanently fixed by law.”

The booklet shows light browning, folds, and minor tears on the cover, along with some foxing internally. Some pages still uncuted. 23 numbered pages [title page and opposite page unnumbered.] counting starts from page no.3. small tear on the bottom of page 5-6 without damage to text. A rare and significant piece of revolutionary history.
