Since childhood, Lara Wasiljewa has been immersed in the art and magic of the sea. Her father, a talented portrait and theatre artist, was the first mentor who inspired her to create paintings reflecting the infinite depths and colours of nature. Travelling to the coast became their ritual, where Lara learned to see and feel the sea. It was her ‘academy’ - without formal training, but with a deep inner understanding of how to convey the mood and character of nature.

Today, Lara paints seascapes that are breathtaking in their depth and sensuality. Inspired by academic realism and the traditions of the masters of the past, she creates paintings that can speak beyond words. For her, art is a search for truth to which she returns time after time.

Lara's paintings are unique in their attention to the smallest details, smooth transitions of light and shadow, rich and vibrant colours.
