This ‘’YoYo’’ pill box, designed by Michel Boucquillon for Alessi in 2018, transforms an everyday necessity into a charming experience. Inspired by Boucquillon’s childhood memories, this pill box brings a touch of nostalgia, recalling the colorful yoyo spool that has delighted generations. With its playful shape, ‘’YoYo’’ turns the routine of taking medication into a more pleasant action, designed to help people remember their weekly pills while adding a bit of whimsy to the process. This unique design object embodies a "playful soul", gently aiming to "sweeten the pill" for its users.

Michel Boucquillon about the inspiration for the design of this ‘’YoYo’’ pill box:
“When I have to take pills, I’m always afraid I’ll to forget to do it. Perhaps I would like for someone or something to remind me in a fun way. In a fleeting moment, I saw myself as I pursued my childhood dreams with that little disc hanging from a string; magically it came back into my hand and, as if hypnotised by the rhythm that I did not want to miss, I meekly opened my mouth toward my mother who handed me the medicine. Then, all of a sudden, taken up by another daily adventure, the yo-yo slipped into my pocket. That round shape is a pleasant and reassuring memory, so I thought of making it into a small box of wellness, a pillbox that is safe and easy to use, to carry in your pocket or purse, or to leave in sight…so as not to forget.”

This Pill box is in a new and unused condition delivered with original packaging.

‘’YoYo’’ is easy to use: simply press the lock button and rotate the lid until the opening is over the compartment for the current day.

Specifications:
- Composed of two parts, one in 18/10 stainless steel, the other in semi-transparent thermoplastic resin.
- PVD is a thin metallic layer applied to the surface of the objects, which ensures excellent resistance to external aggression, both mechanical and chemical.
- The thermoplastic resin section acts as a base and is divided into seven small compartments in which the pills to be taken on different days of the week can be placed. On the outside, each compartment is marked a day of the week and a number from 1 to 7. The names are written in English on the base, and the numbers on the side/the edge. The semi-transparency of the thermoplastic resin means the user can see the pills contained inside and quickly spot any forgotten pills during the week.
- The thermoplastic resin section also includes a lock button to keep the pill box closed. The steel section acts as a lid, with a small opening to access the pills.
- Spacious yet compact, perfect for carrying in your pocket or handbag.

About Michel Boucquillon:
Born in Belgium in 1962. In 1988 he won the competition of the CHAMBER OF EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT in Brussels which signed the beginning of his Architectural and Design career. In ‘2000, he opened a new workshop dedicated to Industrial Design and experimental Architecture in Lucca - Tuscany in his "CASA BOUCQUILLON", extremely experimental place of exploration, meditation, live and work. Michel actually works for the world most famous International Design companies: Artemide, Antonio Lupi, Ferragamo, Serralunga. His work is present in several Museums and got many of the main international Awards, recently: Menzione d’Onore Compasso d’Oro 2011, Good Design Award 2008, Design Plus 2006.
