Yagi Yasuhiro Yagi, a Japanese photographer, has published a collection of photographs entitled Yoko, Witch, Beauty. This book is a collection of female nudes by Yagi, who has photographed many record jackets. Over 20 women (from professional models and celebrities to club mums, hostesses and domestic helpers) are photographed in a variety of situations, from studios to outdoor locations such as the sea. The photographs are not simply beautifully shot, but are expressively staged to give a sense of each individual's personality, and various attempts are made at technical aspects, such as multiple exposures. Although mainly in black and white, there are also colour pages, and colourful illustrations are used effectively in the backgrounds. Alongside the photographs is a poem by writer Teruko Sonoda, and the binding is by Mitsumasa Anno, a well-known picture book author.
