Style characteristics: The stone and its setting are certainly from around 1600; however, the ring itself cannot be dated with certainty. It could very well be from that period, but it might just as easily have been replaced or added 100 or 200 years later.

Era: ca. 1600

Material: 18K reddish/yellowish gold (touchstone tested) - It's difficult to pinpoint the exact hue of this gold; it falls somewhere between red and yellow.

Technique: The rose cuts are set on foil. This is a ancient technique that was used to bring the lustre of the diamonds to its best quality. This is being done by placing in the closed mounting under the diamond a highly polished cone of silver foil.

Diamond(s): One table cut rose cut. This type of a rose cut diamond is considered to be very rare and a proof of age. We do not have the weight of this diamond which is normal in our trade when it comes to rose cuts.
