This auction features a rare and historically significant erotic scroll painting (shunga) from the late Meiji to Taisho era (early 20th century). The hand painted scroll, created on paper, vividly depicts intimate scenes from the Yoshiwara pleasure district of Edo period Japan in vibrant colors. The reverse side illustrates various samurai units and their retainers, providing details on their numbers and roles.

The scroll comes housed in its original wooden box. The scroll ends are made from wood, adding to its authenticity and craftsmanship.
