Why the Riesling from the Gaisberg is always the first to be perfectly ripe for drinking is one of the great mysteries of our range. One that we gladly accept, by the way, as we are happy to have both early bloomers and late starters. Incidentally, the location in the far west of the Krems Valley is the ideal place for summer picnics. The sun comes rather late, but shines into the vines until the evening hours and keeps the soil and the bedrock below warm overnight. Forest also surrounds our 12 terraces, providing an additional component in the vineyard's very special microclimate.
