The parcel, which we call “Mittlerer Josef” among ourselves, is located in the middle of the core of the Scharzhofberg in a direct extension of the courtyard to the top of the hill. In this area, the mountain also has a small heat-storing hollow - an important indication of a parcel with particularly high ripening potential in the cool Scharzhofberg location. In addition, the “Mittlere Josef” is located in the middle vineyard, which is spared from late frosts on the one hand and drought on the other. The clay and silt slate of grey to reddish color from the Devonian period, often weathered into fine slate flakes, and the exceptional microclimate characterize the distinctive and typical style.
