2013 Schreiner, Confidentia Joachim - Burgenland - 1 Magnum (1,5 L)

We classify Cabernet Franc as a variety with extremely promising development potential for our region. The sometimes extremely hot summer and fall days do not harm the CF. It develops in a balanced and healthy way up to physiological ripeness.
Gernot has been observing and cultivating this variety in his vineyards for around 20 years now and has always been enthusiastic about it. For this reason, we had our own clone of CF propagated and planted out. In the perfect wine year of 2013, we were able to bring in sufficient yields for the first time to be able to both serve our vineyard and realize the idea of an almost Cabernet Franc.
The barrel was spontaneously labeled with chalk by Victoria in the wine cellar. The “ZUVERSICHT”, Latin for Confidentia, was to accompany this wine through the years in the cellar. Hope is a big word, but we can probably all muster confidence, even in confusing or even difficult times.
We dedicate Confidentia 2013 to our son Joachim, who was born in the year in question. May confidence accompany him throughout his life.
