2006 THE VINTAGE 2006 The 2006 vintage was a very beautiful vintage, warm and quite windy. The wine is particularly greedy and the grenache expresses all its charm by its tactile side and its aromas of cherry, dark chocolate, garrigue. This sweet aspect is prolonged for a long time thanks to the mourvèdre. A very beautiful vintage already accessible. Tasting 2006 Appearance: Very deep dark ruby color, purple reflections. Nose: Rich on black and ripe fruits, vanilla, delicately smoked. Mouth: Round and powerful, superb balance between tannins and flesh, on red fruits. Beautiful guard potential. Beaucastel’s 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape is performing even better from bottle than it did last year. Its dense plum/ruby/purple color is followed by a big, sweet perfume of black truffles, camphor, earth, incense, new saddle leather, and loads of peppery, blackberry, and herb-infused, meaty, black cherry fruit.
