An extremely rare and extraordinary high quality antique Chinese porcelain double-bodied cruet bottle with a central decoration of many insects above many florals in continuous landscape, executed in a nice underglaze blue and white. In the border a classical decoration of zig zag lines and lotus roots. Handcrafted in ancient China during the Qing dynasty, Kangxi period (ca. 1690). Guaranteed original and of the stated period.

- A similar one remains in the collection of August the Strong, Dresden, inv. no. PO 2339, illustrated in Meissener Blaumalerei Aus Drei Jahr Hunderten, exh. cat., Leipzig, 1989, pp. 126-27, no. 3. The cruet was recorded under number 479 and a zig-zag line (the symbol applied to blue and white porcelain) in the 1779 inventory of the Japanese Palace.

Condition: The object is in overall good condition, normal glaze fritting and shallow flake to the sprouts and foot rim only. Without any other damages or any restorations. The condition is carefully checked with strong UV-light and bright translucent white light, also under the silver mounts.
