A very fine antique italian 4/4 violin, labeled Joannes Franciscus Pressenda q. Raphael fecit Taurini anno Domini 1836. The instrument is in ready to play condition with some professionally repaired cracks on top & ribs, grafted scroll, new ebony set up, new fingerboard, new Aubert bridge and new strings. The violin has an excellent high grained spruce of the top and two pieces back of softly flamed maple with matched sides and scroll. The purfling is professionally executed and the edges are masterfully done. The oil varnish of deep reddish color remains in excellent condition. The whole length of the violin is 584 mm and the back 357 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 167 mm; middle bouts: 111 mm; lower bouts: 206 mm. The sound is very good, suitable for soloist. Shipping by DHL or FedEx is possible and would be claimed according to your personal requirements
