Two book pages from "Hokusai Soga" (Album of Drawings of Hokusai): "The Gods of Happiness and Devils"
A man is throwing dried soybeans to two devils to drive them away. Meanwhile, the lucky god and the happy god are having a sake drinking party in the living room. The custom of "mame maki" (throwing beans) is carried out in February to bring in the luck and to get rid of the bad luck from the house.
